new

well I haven't posted here a long while, because a few weeks after my last post, the tea plant died, that clone never made it. I was pretty disappointed and just didn't post here for awhile, but I still love plants and I still want to make this work...

The large plant died of over fertilization, and I don't think that will happen again. the clone died because it never grew roots and just died.

also the climate under that 400watt light was instense.

since then I retired the 400w lamp to storage, and I did a little work on the garden, I am now using a range of comact flourescent bulbs and a 70w high pressure sodium to produce a lumen output of about 13000 (will confirm this # soon) and its a good step up from the brightness in the closet garden. I also added a swamp cooler to the cabinet It was growing it.

I have been buying seeds and have tryed different methods of germination and haven't got a tea plant, however I was able to germinate and grow what seems like hundreds of mint plants.
and I aquired a salvia divinorum plant which I was able to grow and clone successfully.

By growing those plants and experimenting with the plants growing around my house I gained a lot of knowledge that will help me to grow more tea.

I'm on the search for a tea plant, and I will probably end up buying a few strains of tea soon.

This looks very promising, I love tea, and was curious if anyone tried growing it hydroponically, I wonder how much you can affect the taste by altering the minerals. Keep up the good work I will be checking in to see your progress :)
