Getting Taller

Well as you can see the plants have continued to grow at a steady pace. At this point though some are showing signs of deficiency, I think they may just need some more nitrogen in their diet, or more iron, I'll do both. This is the problem and the best part of going with an inert potting medium, I have to do all of the feeding, but in return I get to figure out what these plants like.
I got my GED!! I shouldn't have dropped out of high school in the first place, but I'm glad I'm caught up.

Gnats!!!!

During the past few weeks there started to be a growing population of little black gnats living on top of the Coco in the pots and flying around the garden. These are common in indoor gardens and they come with most cheap soil. Don't think they are harmless, they can damage your plants by eating the roots. Anyway to control them I am using MosquitoDunks, they are pretty non toxic as their main ingredient is Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis. Just leave part of the dunk in a bucket of water for a couple days, them remove the dunk and water the plants with the water. The mosquito dunks kill the larvae and eggs which feed off of the roots and doing one watering with it should control them for 30 days. For the adults I use sticky fly traps, just be carefull not to get stuck to them, because the sticky stuff is really hard to get off of skin and hair.

There are other methods to get rid of them, but this is the best way I've found.

Steady Growth

I've been just giving them water and most are responding well, I gave them some foxfarm peace-of-mind granular organic fertilizer for acid loving plants, it seems to be working well, but it really smells bad, and now my bedroom smells like it. I gave half of the plants super-thrive, and half just plain water, and it seems like the ones I gave it to are bigger, so I'm going to continue giving half the plants the super-thrive and see if there gets to be a significant difference.

They are growing good, I'll keep them healthy and keep posting pictures alog the way.
